Aslan Jonoubi is an Iranian university lecturer who graduated from the University of Toronto. He has extensive experience in managing complex architecture projects that incorporate plants. Besides, he established a renowned Middle Eastern company that focused on large-scale architectural and urban design projects. As a specialist in green walls and roofs, his conceptual designs of expansive projects with abundant vegetation are highly recognized. Jonoubi also serves as a board member for the World Green Infrastructure Network Association.

 

 

 

 

 

Jörg
Breuning

Founder and owner of Green Roof Technology consulting company

Jörg Breuning is a pioneer and dedicated practitioner in the Green Roof sector, having significantly contributed to its evolution in Germany over 45 years ago. He brought Green Roofs to North America in 1999 and introduced Solar Green Roofs in 2010. Since 2015, he has been advising on projects in the Middle East and the Caribbean, too. His focus on healthy thriven plants, combined with his global expertise, enhances Green Roofs by utilizing locally sourced materials, urban mining resources, and plastic-free solutions. His innovative approach includes integrating living greenery in ground remote locations but also in applications, such as Green Walls, Green Railway tracks, natural swimming pools, and vegetation combined with Wind/PV systems.

 

 

 

 

 

John
Rayner

Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne 

John is an academic based at the University of Melbourne where his interests focus on the design and use of plants, particularly in green infrastructure and public landscapes. He has been a leader in Australian green roofs research and development for more than 20 years, particularly in industry outreach and engagement. This has included assistance in design development of more than 80 green infrastructure projects and leading industry partnerships that have produced the multi-award winning Growing Green Guide (2014), Maintenance Guidelines for Australian Green Roofs (2021), Guidelines for Biodiverse Green Roofs (2023) and the Burnley Green Roof Plant Guide (2023).

 

 

 

 

 

Wouter Jochemsen

Member of the Board of Directors at Sempergreen Group

Wouter Jochemsen is currently a member of the Board of Directors at Sempergreen Group, bringing over a decade of experience in international landscaping to his role. With a focus on Green Roofs and Green Walls, he has honed his expertise in sustainable urban development. Wouter's career has taken him to various continents, including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where he has gained valuable insights into diverse landscaping practices and environmental challenges.

 

 

 

 

 

Stefan Brenneisen

Head of urban ecology research group at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences

Stefan Brenneisen is the head of urban ecology research group at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. The main research topic they are working on are green roofs and biodiversity, and they lead advocacy on this subject for more than 25 years. They have been consulting many cities such as Basel and others in Switzerland regarding building codes and guidelines for green roofs. They are working in new fields of innovation such as light weight and optimized cooling by watering with grey water.

 

 

 

 

 

Yi-Jiung
(Eugenia) Lin

Teacher at Fooyin University, vice president of the Taiwan Green Roofs and Green Walls Association

Yi-Jiung Lin is the vice president of the Taiwan Green Roofs and Green Walls Association. She holds a master's degree in landscape architecture from the State University of New York USA, and a doctorate in architecture from the National Cheng-Kung University of Taiwan. She teaches at the Environmental Engineering and Science Department of Fooyin University in Taiwan and is concerned about climate change, actively engages in ecological landscapes and low-carbon green buildings and often lectures various communities on disaster prevention and health support to local people for sustainable living.
